Bangkok backpack adventure~ day 2

28.1.13
A relaxing morning having breakfast in hotel ( though it was just a sausage, 2 eggs & bread ). We hired motor taxi to bring us one round at that area, Saphan Khwai. It cost us 30 baht per ride.

We travelled by BTS Skytrain to Phaya Thai and by Airport Rail Link to Ratchaprarop, the second hotel we stayed, Siam Star Hotel. EY was alerted enough to get hotel's map and address for everyone in case we need to show the road to the taxi driver later. If I'm not mistaken, here is the town city of Bangkok, somewhere as happening as our KLCC. More shopping spree is going on today. We managed to get taxi agent to drive us free to Siam Paragon as some of planning to visit Siam Ocean World with promotion 700 Baht per ticket. We had our lunch at Siam Paragon food court, still trying some local food and we split.

HT & I started our adventure while the rest visitting Undersea World. For your information, Siam Paragon, Siam Center & Siam Discovery are arranged in a row. We just randomly walk and shop without setting a target. If you're uncertain of your location or direction, the lady at information counter of mall can speak very fluent English and show you accurate direction. We were so excited seeing some art products, guess there was fashion exhibition?

the Thai stars shooting show?

a very beautiful decoration for don't know what ongoing fashion exhibition
where is your book?
I just need to double assure you that girl loves snapping photos. All we need  are some beautiful scenery or cute background to spend our whole afternoon. Siam Center just suit us.
I'm Queen of fashion!

Just as random as we are, we spotted this very attractive shop having so many people surrounding the it. Now I got it, it's Magnum Cafe! a shop advertised by Magnum brand ice-cream. We looked at each other & nodded a head, straight joining the big crowd in the queue. Another luxurious enjoyment with absolute posh interior design serving meals or just ice-cream. We can choose 3 toppings for the Magnum ice-cream that cost us 80 baht. I can see quite a number of students love to hang around in this cafe.

our DIY ice-cream!

I only remember one of the topping was mint sweets, we have chosen for the ice-cream, but the magnum ice-cream was dark chocolate and the syrup was milk chocolate.
After that, we spotted the booth promoting ticket of Madame Tussaud's Museum and get to take picture with Hollywood stars!

Britney spears?
Brad pitt!my boyfriend!!

Okay, we thought we can get some local snacks food from MBK but it somehow disappointed us. It's just like another Sungei Wang in Malaysia. It has a very big food avenue The Fifth consists of maybe 20 over types of food from different country. It do has a nice environment but the price slightly higher.
finally, we reached MBK without realizing.
After our dinner, we went to Platinum Mall with Tuk Tuk, we forgot about the fair but not too high as well. Another travel guide here. If you not sure about the taxi fair to travel between places, you can always consult the information counter inside the mall. Always insist the taxi driver to follow the meter while Tuk Tuk, they will always charge slightly higher than taxi, you can always bargain if you know how much taxi normally charge.
We get so attracted by the night stalls along the street outside without realizing Platinum Mall actually closed at 8pm. =.= So another remind here, checked the open time of the places you want to visit. Different country different cultural and timing as well. So we just continue to visit the stalls one by one. Soon, I realized these were all who are selling variety DIY stuffs. One selling DIY book cover, another selling DIY shirt printing, carve name on the metal strap and all kinds of fancy arts & crafts. It really caught my eyes for I'm so in love with DIY products and do a lot of DIY stuffs as well. And I always respect these people who earn money with their own talent and own effort. They gain more if they work more, gain less if work less, especially I know some of DIY products really time consuming.

tell him the words u want to print on shirt and he will do it for u!
The night is still young. We asked one of the seller of the road walking back to hotel and swayed back unwillingly. Thanks God there were so much stalls outside which were actually the shop inside the mall that we can still shop around while heading back. We reached a place called Watergate when our feet cannot afford more walking. Another night street here where they were street performers singing English songs to lighten up the atmosphere. Quite obvious that there were more foreigners here. Seriously I loved the atmosphere here. We stayed until the street performers finished their last song.

Our last stop after all, Thai Massage! There were Thai Massage shop along the shop blocks with fixed price. 200 baht per hour. I actually wanted to try out but last minute chickened out because the atmosphere just not right. Mum always reminded me to always pray wherever I go especially Thailand has such strong spiritual warfare. But I really thanks the worker giving me a nice seat while HT was doing her leg massage.

Today is really a long day for us but I believe more to come the next day.
