bangkok backpack adventure~ day 1

27.1.13
Here I am, back from Bangkok & the very meaningful mission at Pulau Ketam. It's always good to serve people. Realizing it's already a week away from the first day at Bangkok, but still, every each scenes worth me to reminisce & put into words.

On the first day, seven of us took the flight from LCCT to Don Mueang Airport. We reached our destination at 3pm ( Thailand timing which is one hour later than M'sia ) after 2 hours flight. Since, we decided to backpack rather than taking any traveling package, we asked & took the public transport to our hotel at Saphan Khwai. Still, we faced problem in communicating with the people to ask the exact location of our hotel & it took us another 30 mins. Finally, we reached Mansion Sarasinee Resort.

Chatuchak market is 10 mins walking distance from our hotel. It is a very big day market with cheap stuffs and you can even bargain for lower price. It is a must go tourist spot or even a heaven for those who desperately finding for cheap & lovely new year clothing. Range around 50 baht to 500 baht with average 150 baht.
here we are! going to flip the whole market upside down!

We had all kinds of local snacks as well. But frankly speaking, Asia delicacies have not much different.
I don't know the name of this snack but it's quite nice
We had our dinner in the market. Very traditional tomyam soup and dishes. Please, it is really cheap and delicious! For us who don't eat much, we only spent 50 baht per person for this sumptuous dinner. Language barrier caused some misunderstanding between us and the waiter ended the chef cook double portion of our order. We insisted to pay for it in case the boss deducted the waiter's salary but the boss refused to take it & somehow promised the dished will not be charged.
we just need five bowls of rice for 5 of us!

After the dinner, some of us proceeded with our shopping spree while some went for other activities such as Thai massage. It really need strong rationality to resist the temptation of buying unnecessary cheap stuffs. My way is by bringing less money along with me every each day and I found it quite useful.

I will suggest a more strategy location for hotel as our hotel situated away from the busy area, it is quite dangerous if we need to walk at night. Three of us little girls actually half jogged half walked while returning to our hotel at night.
Night time, the sharing time! We took turn to try out all our prizes after a long day shop. Seriously, enjoyed the time so much and there is more to come in the days after!

vintage still the best choice!
